I am using the e-mail app to get and send my e-mails.

The one I am using seems very basic and Im not convinced it is sending or replying.

Could someone please recommend what I can use. I used to have Windows Live mail on my old Windows 7 laptop.

Many thanks

Welcome to Windows Eight Forums, Stattovic.

I find the Email app in 8.1 very good to use. As a test, you could send an email to yourself.

You can read up on it by opening the app > Charms bar > Settings > Help. It'll take you to a web page with help on it.

Once you learn more of the OS, you'll begin to see that these apps work in conjunction with one another.

Thank you for your responce,
I have read through the instructions, but nowhere does it state where you can find your sent e-mails.
I cannot find anywhere where they are listed so not confident that they are not sent.
ALL my e-mails sent are in a folder called Folders/Outbox, I have no idea if they have been sent ?

I did send an e-mail using my sons computer and that went through fine, the reply was they had not receive the one I sent on here.

That is why I am looking for a different e-mail app/program.

Thanks

If you are used to Windows Live Email you could use that again

It works just the same in windows 8 as it did in 7

If your emails are sitting in your Outbox, then you haven’t sent them. This is just like any other email program, except better. Did you push the Send button at the top right? Alt/S are the combo keys. You’ll know when they’re being sent.

Many thanks, that is what I have done now, and it works as I wanted it.

Glad you got what you wanted. :)

What I use is Gmail.
I keep a tab open to my Gmail account.
I use Opera which delights me with its' usability especially with tabs.

If I click on a mailto link it takes me to my Gmail account in the metro mail.
