Junk folders

Somehow I have 2 junk folders in my Mail app on win 8.1. One is a bogus folder that I did not create. How can I delete it? I tried and nothing happens.

Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I worked on this for a couple of hours & got nowhere.

What if you log into hotmail via the browser to see if you have the same.

I had a similar issue with gmail although in my case I had both "bin" and "trash". As the mail app downloads the list of IMAP folders from the server you need to delete the one you don't want from their server (or mark them not to be downloaded). In gmail it is in settings/labels for example...

David, I have the same exact problem as you and tried many times to delete and no success.

Topgun, when I go to hotmail through my browser it only shows the one valid junk folder.

I have the same issue, the only way to get back to one junk folder is to reinstall the mail app which is annoying as the 2nd junk folder will come back after like 3-7 days. It seems to have just recently started happening in say the last month.

It also happens on a fresh install of 8.1 so I think it is something happening a Microsoft's end.
