Solved Internet Explorer 11 Only Opens As Administrator

Hi, Internet Explorer 11 will only open if I right click and then select Run As Administrator. If I don't do this, the window opens, then closes straight away without doing anything. Links in Incredimail will not open in it either.
Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox work fine (and with the Incredimail links).
I have not added any programs recently. I have tried a clean boot, I have disabled all the add ons, I have checked/unchecked Enable Enhanced Protected Mode, I have made Google Chrome the default browser, then changed back to IE11, I have run Malwarebytes Anti Malware, Super Anti Spyware, Windows Defender and CCleaner, checked for Windows updates...all to no avail. Tried a system restore as well, but no joy.
Could anyone please shed any light on this problem?
Many thanks.

-Do you have a check for it in the firewall? Just like you have to give Google Chrome access in the firewall it's possble somehow IE11 lost it's access.
-Do you have any other software running ( such as Malwarebytes Anti Exploit Tool for example ) which may be blocking that.\
-Do you have the User Account Privilege thing on?

Thanks for the quick reply.
Checked Firewall permissions, and it had indeed disappeared, put it back in, but alas, no change.
No other software running that I can see. Turned UAC right down, and still did not help.

under the advance tab in tools/internet options try to do a complete reset and then restart the browser ( you may even want to do a pc reboot to be on the safe side ) and see if that resolves it now.

I really don't suggest it but you could go to the security tab and see if unchecking protected mode fixes it as well.

I have tried them as well, but no joy. Went into Program Features and disabled IE11, then re-booted and enabled it again, but still the same.

Hmm are you the main administrator of that computer? Right click your start button and tell me if you can see the administrative functions.

I'm wondering if somehow you got took out of the administrative user group and into a sub control group.

1) Remove any existing IE start menu shortcuts.
2) Use explorer to navigate to "c:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer"
3) Right-click iexplore.exe and select Pin to Start.
4) Use explorer to navigate to c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\StartMenu\Programs"
-or-
From the start menu right-click on the new iexplore shortcut tile and select Open File Location.
5) Right-click the iexplore shortcut and select Properties -> Advanced -> make sure that this isn't checked Run as Administrator and click OK.

Also, what version of IE11 are you running?

Right click the explorer icon, properties and Security. Are all permissions there Allow, if not edit them.

Did all that, same thing happens. Quick flash of a blank Internet Explorer window and then it closes immediately. Right click on it and select Run As Administrator, and it works.

Check for system file corruption with the sfc /scannow command using the elevated command prompt.

Ran that as suggested. It repaired some files, but could not repair some others.
But, upon reboot, Internet Explorer now works fine, without me having to choose "Run as Administrator".
Many thanks to you both for all your help. Much appreciated here in sunny Cambridge, England. :)

Glad to hear all worked out.

If sfc could not fix all the corruption, suggest you run the Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command and then run the sfc /scannow again.

Solved...no $$$...problem with addon, Shockwave MS 3rd party...NOT ActiveX Control Adobe. To disable >tools>manage addons>show all (if you need to)>disable Shockwave Flash Object

This problem was only on my recently bought laptop...forced into Win 8, IE 11, which I still hate. I also am running Win 7 and IE11 on desktop with no problems.

Also, a phone call to MS ... they only offered a pay service to fix. I declined and found the problem afterward. Lot's of leads on www, but none about addons. yippeeee....
