Chrome Freezes/Crashes Regularly; Updating Issues

Hello,
My parents bought an AX3995-UR20 in the last year, and very little has been downloaded on to it, so mostly the computer has the default programs. I have downloaded Word of Tanks onto it, but nothing other than the default game has been added, and I've experienced no issues with the game itself. Some of the problems I've been having are:
- Google Chrome crashes regularly
+ This usually happens when multitasking after Chrome is opened; I'll switch to another program (IE, WoT, etc.) and chrome will freeze, and then crash
+Issues with Google Chrome also happen to IE
+ WoT will update its state as I have Chrome maximized (move to another loading screen/ start game) and this seems to be when Chrome crashes.
+Chrome will also freeze/crash when I do something in Chrome, such as load a gif, without anything else open
- The computer will not update
+ it asks for a restart to update, and then fails to finish and abandons the update
+ this also happens when I attempt to force an update
- Sometimes, after sleeping, the computer will black screen and needs to be turned off manually before it can be used
+ I really don't like manually shutting off the computer every other time I need to use it, I don't want to hurt it/ corrupt data
-Word has crashed when I attempted to save my document; this has happened only once and could be a fluke
- Intel Support Manager tells me it crashed almost every time I log in

I'm happy to supply additional information; I'm not sure what you guys need, but please tell me if you need something specific. I don't have any error reports because of the nature of my problem.

I am fairly sure, based on what it happening, that this is a problem with RAM, the computer not being able to handle so much at once; crashes happen during MORE resource intensive times, although I think that the computer should be able to handle these tasks EASILY.

TD;DR - Chrome crashes when more resources/programs used, computer should be able to handle them, however. Windows will not apply updates. (Please read, though)

Thanks for any help!

EDIT: Chrome actually freezes for no reason, too; often, in the middle of browsing a page, it will stop scrolling and then crash.

FF has always been my main browser. However, since I bought a Chrome Cast, I have to install Chrome in order to stream Videos to the big screen TV. I found that both Chrome and FF are working quite well. As the matter of fact, recent FF versions (29 & 30) the interface looks more like Chrome.

If you have problem with Chrome then uninstall it completely and re-install BUT before doing so, sign in your Google mail, if you don't have one, sign up for one then Google will store your Chrome preference, bookmarks and keep track of what add-ons you have installed so when you re-install Chrome, those things will be sync back to Chrome automatically.

The same goes with FF, From the Menu, click on Tool then setup sync with your email.

Firefox 30.0 or higher optimized for performance, stability and security with any of these carefully chosen tweaks:
TweakGuides.com - Firefox Tweak Guide

still blows anything else out of the water, IMHO! :)

Alright, so I re-installed Chrome, went quickly, so far the usual crashes are non-existent, and it seems to be running smoothly. Thanks for all the help, hopefully this will hold, I'll update if there are any changes.
