I'm about ready to start tearing my hair out!!!!!! Firefox kept crashing. Nothing I tried worked. So, I used MozBackup and saved settings, plugins and cookies. Fully uninstalled Firefox then reinstalled. Noticed after the reinstall that when I hit a page that has flash my cursor goes NUTS. It flickers like mad. Also, I had a flash issue so I used Adobe's uninstaller then reinstalled. Well, flash doesn't work. Uninstalled flash and Firefox again. This time I had MozBackup only save cookies and bookmarks. Reinstalled Firefox and even without flash installed, the cursor still goes nuts on a page with flash. The page will freeze. Can't close the page, open a new tab or use the back button.

Installing flash got me a couple popups. Talk about 'greek' to me. I'm at a loss as to what they mean. Here's what they said:

install_flash_player.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point þÿ could not be locate in the dynamic link library C:\WINDOWS\system32\mscms.dll

InstallFlashPlayer.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point H<xéGóÿÿH<éVóÿÿ¹
==========
This is what Adobe reports when I check my version of flash:

YOUR SYSTEM INFORMATION
Your Flash Version 13.0.0
Your browser name Firefox
Your Operating System (OS) Windows (Windows 8)

Should also note that a few hours before all this happened, had a BSOD. Don't know why, just happened out of the blue. When it came back up it reported drive errors. So I did a scan/repair of the system drive.

There is no issue in IE, just Firefox.

Stupid Flash made me more BSODs than anything else with all the browsers. Once I caught it in the act red handed. While I had a page with a lot of flash opened it checked for update. Tried same thing few times and it happened again, every time. Changed to "never check for updates" and it never bothered me after that.
Btw, I use FF mostly.

mscms.dll is Microsoft Color Matching System DLL and it might be corrupted due to BSOD. I suggest you to run:
sfc /scannow from the elevated command prompt and also run: chkdsk /r c: before trying to re-install Firefox.

Well, that was interesting..... NOT! Ran the first one and it said errors found. Only named 1 file, CBS.log. Then started the 2nd scan. Of course it has to reboot to do chkdsk /r. Unbeknown to me, Windows had downloaded updates. So, when it rebooted, the updates were trying to install while the scan was taking place. The scan got to 10% and stayed there for several hours. Finally I said screw it and shut the computer off. When I turned it back on it gave me 1 second to hit a key to stop the scan. Oh joy, that was fun. Finally after the 3rd attempt I was able to exit the scan. The update happened and when the computer came up I decided to scan C. It came back with no errors. Then went to YouTube and guess what? Problem fixed, don't ask me how because I didn't really do anything.

Thanks for the help.
