Solved Firefox hangs on exit, wont load again unless END TASK

I am not sure if the issue above is FF related or something to do with Windows 8.1? I am using FF29. Since installing this, everytime I exit, when I come back even if hours later, it says FF is already running, and I have to Task Manager kill it, any solution?

its a known bug in FF it has to do with your profile settings, (hidden).
Main fix appears to be a reset
Down arrow> help> troubleshooting see screenshot (Palemoon is a Firefox offshoot).
it will save most of your settings, and put an old file on your desktop.

I have been reading about this bug on the Firefox forums. It would appear that the only fix for now is to disable 'Clear history when Firefox closes' option in the Settings (if it is enabled). Then everything is OK.

Hopefully this problem will be fixed in the next Firefox update.

I'd already switched back to Firefox 28 before I read this so haven't tried it personally.

Edit: from Firefox ? Notes ? Mozilla, "already running" unresolved.
