Browser security -- about to leave secure mode - ?

    Hi there
To any Browser / Security Gurus.

I get this popup when searching Google -- does it actually mean anything, should I ignore it or what.

There's a message that I'm about to "Leave secure mode" and data won't be encrypted" -- Screenshot shown.

I never actually knew that a browser encrypted data anyway - I always thought queries were sent in plain text -- hopefully someone can enlighten me. We are never too OLD to learn something new.
