Solved How do I set up my Verizon email?

Trying out W8 CP but not feeling the love.

I only see Google, Exchange, & Yahoo as email possibilities. If I can't set up my Verizon account, I would NEVER use W8.

Am I missing something?

I took a deep breath, slept on it, and came up with the solution.

You have to bypass the Metro tiles. They are all cloud based.

Go into the desktop (lower left corner tile), fire up IE10 (smokin' fast by the way) and download MS Live Essentials.
From this install, you choose the Windows Live Mail that we are used to in W7. This can be setup with your mail provider.

i got my pop mail to work with the metro app, it took some doing though.

first have to establish a trusted pc in microsoft's eyes, then go to accounts and establish a new account for another email

I went through the Trust PC procedure but still cannot add a POP account, in my case verizon.net. The Metro Mail app setting for a new email account only allows Hotmail, Outlook (Exchange, O365), Google and Other Account. Under Other Account the only Incoming Mail Server type is IMAP. No POP/POP3. I tried adding the Verizon anyway with all of the other parameters but it can't "find" my account. How did you get a POP account to add?

I was easily able to add my Vz account by D/L'ing and using Win Live Mail - much more like Outlook. Removed Metro Mail on Start screen and replaced it with Win Live Mail and Win Live Msngr.
