when you first install the OS it asks you for an email addy to set up an email account- only it doesn't ask you for your email settings. This was mega confusing at first. I tried putting in my live email account, then micrososft said this was not good, no idea why so i put in my comcast account. Now when the OS completed I clicked on the Mail App and nothing was there. It just says Account Info- with nothing there.

Ok Micrososft took out Windows Live Mail- but can you install it anyway and use it? if not how do you put more accounts in this Mail App.

Also I have several clients set up on Windows live mail with their contacts and emails and it gives you the ablility to back it up with an export feature. How the heck can you move your contacts and emails into this "Mail APP?

The mail app opens so big I cannot see anything else on the screen and the only way to close it is to drag it to the bottom.

Btw I am using Windows 8 in vmplayer

thanks

I did an inplace upgrade of the developer preview so it didn't ask me to add email. I did though click on mail and was able to add hotmail and google, but couldn't connect to set up my exchange account. Now I can't figure out how to add another account.

Yes you can use Windows Live Mail. I also use Photo Gallery and Movie Maker. That Email login when you installed Win 8 is for your Live ID account and all it gives you is when using the Cloud apps you are already signed in. If you skip past that on installation it will let you create a normal account. You should be able to add a normal account using add user.
