Solved rules in mail

Windows 8.1 mail app in metro.
is there a way to setup rules so that I can set it so messages go into folders.
for example there is an facebook folder, orders folder etc
I want to setup rules so that all facebook emails go into facebook etc

I know you can do this in outlook and thunderbird how about windows 8.1 mail

I don't use the Mail app, so I can't really answer the original question. However, if as the previous poster says it's not possible to do it from within the app itself (and you use Microsoft as your email provider), you could always set rules from inside Outlook.com instead, which will apply the rules when the emails arrive and will therefore sync with the Mail app when you open it.

From Outlook.com, click on the 'Cog' symbol in top right and go to More Email Settings. Then go to 'Rules for sorting new messages'.

It's a bit difficult to advise exactly what rules to set without seeing the emails and looking for patterns, however the Facebook one for example should be pretty simple, something along the lines of 'if sender's address is @facebook.com', move to XYX folder', or 'if sender's address contains facebook, move to XYX folder' for example.
