import contacts to outlook 2013

I want to transfer the contacts from a vista pc. the vista pc uses office 2007. I want to export or transfer the contacts from that pc to a windows 8.1 pc that has outlook 2013 installed. I tried WET, but that doesn't work with 8.1 from vista. advise please.

No good exporting default? (I dont have 2013) does 2013 not use .pst files?

I use Sync PST for Outlook. Allows me to load two pst files and copy (between the two either way) only what I want to e.x. contacts/email/calendar etc

Backup the contacts as .pst file from office 2007 by exporting it. Go to File/Export , click on Export to a file, then pick, pick outlook Data File, click next, when the box comes up, highlight Contacts, click next, name the file Contacts.pst and put it in a folder like in Downloads where you can find it
copy the file to a usb drive and put it on the new machine
then go into office 2013 and again click File/open& export
click Import/Export
pick Import from another program file
highlight Outlook Data File
click on Browse and find the pst file you created and click next, click Finish and it should import your contacts

he msged me and said it worked, just in case anyone asks

I imported my contacts.to outlook 2013 and the file got messed up. I then re-imported the file and Outlook created a new file! Outlook insists on using the original messed up file for address book etc. I can't erase or eliminate the first file. How can I either move the data from the second file to the first one or have Outlook use the second file?
