I installed Win 8 CP, and since have been unable to send or receive in outlook 2010, I get the following error

Was working fine before installation, I have tried repairing from the disc, webmail works OK, all the settings in accounts are correct as far as I can tell, I have tried turning off the firewall etc.

Any Ideas?

Regards
Steve

Yes did the settings manually, I have my own domain so have to, on my win7 laptop no problems.

When I changed to IMAP I can now get incoming connection (sometimes) but no outbound, use same settings as incoming connection, can`t figure it out.

I have the same problem/error. I called the support line for my ISP and they ran some tests and it seems that port 25 is not communicating. The did a telnet search/ping and it didn't work. I tried turning off the windows firewall and it still didn't work. Also tried to add an exception for port 25, but this didn't work either.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks

I don't know if this is related, but I am not able to receive emails using Outlook 2010. All was fine until yesterday at noon. I rebooted a few times (nightmare) and got emails on server. This morning I logged in again and have yet to get one stinking email. I have my old pc still running and I am getting emails on it, it is running Windows 7. This Windows 8 is bringing back Vista memories. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Outlook Pop 3

:DWORKS FOR ME, AND HERE’S HOW. (Not an expert, but this is what I did, and I can send and receive emails through my pop3 server (which is Cox, in Arizona).
Got a new Lenovo G580 (basic Laptop with Windows 8, installed Micro Soft Office 2010 (which I had on my old Laptop. After it installed, went to Outlook, followed the directions and, well like I said it works.
Hope this helps everyone, at least the the one’s with Office 2010……………

I also am having issues with Outlook 2010 and windows 8. I recently upgraded to windows 8 and outlook was reinstalled and running fine. a couple of days ago I turned the computer on and outlook no longer opens. It says it has errors detected in the files. I have tried to repair from the disc but no good. I am not great on computer workings and am really lost as what I can do or try. does anyone have any suggestions for me at all?
