Upload library location changed - how do I fix it

Hi,
I run Windows 8 on my computer & use Google Chrome. When I am on Facebook and you want to up-load a photo, I used to just click on ‘up-load’ and the pc would automatically switch to your computer library where you choose the file and item you would like to upload. Well, that’s how it was.

Lately when I click on upload it switches to a different screen (blue) with only a few files showing up. Not workable files and they can’t open to select an item.

The other change that I noticed lately is that when I want to go on Google there is also a blue screen & I must click twice.

Hope this makes sense?
Thanks
Stephen

Can I see the blue screen? http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2598-screenshots-files-upload-post-eight-forums.html

This is a picture of what I get when I attempt to upload to facebook. Could you have installed 3rd party customizations?

Hey mate,

Let us start fresh. Open your antivirus program, and run a full scan of your system.

Then, go into windows update, and make sure your computer has all recommended/important updates installed. Keep checking until you get back 'no more updates available'.

Make sure you have updated 8 to windows 8.1: Update to Windows 8.1: FAQ - Microsoft Windows Help -you will need to make sure you have the latest drivers for the operating system installed. This is easier than it sounds. This is the website for South Africa, for which you will need to search support for your specific computer type (assuming you are using the Packard Bell): Home | Packard Bell

After all this, we can begin looking at the actual problem (if it persists)

That blue screen is/was a feature of windows 8. Can't remember how you get there, or if it was specific to 8 and not 8.1 o.0

I haven't seen it in a while on my computer, which makes me believe it was only on windows 8.

As for chrome, perhaps the easiest method would be to uninstall and reinstall. This is how to save any bookmarks, etc. from chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/96816?hl=en

It worked, i did exactly as you suggested then restarted and all was fine - must have been an update issue.
Thanks a lot for your help!
