This is the only web browser this is happening on and its strange, anyone got an solution?

Check the above thread. Not exactly the same problem, but similar.

Try to reinstall Chrome with the latest stable version. Many have problems with Chrome automatically updating. More simple sometimes just to uninstall and reinstall. You are still able to save your Favs and Extensions, etc.

Chrome updates fine but I uninstalled and reinstalled and still have the same problem, it just won't save any extensions or settings I've changed.

I had the same problem...I believe it is Chrome bug. Many are having this problem. My solution which works is as follows.

If you have not opened an account sign in for Chrome do so. You will find it in by clicking on lined box top right of browser. Then where it says sign in go ahead and do it. Create an account if you do not already have one. Then synchronize your Chrome. It saves your settings and extensions and preferences to the web. Once done great!!! Then when Chrome bug happens and everything is lost ..sign out of Chrome account and then sign back in and everything will be restored. The only thing that doesn't restore are my font choices but that is no big deal.

Hope this helps you.

Also if you run CCleaner and clean Chrome I've noticed it makes the bug happen more often. I only clean now with built in Chrome clearer.

You may also disable some of your extensions one by one and see if one of your extensions are causing the default to happen more often. My ad block cause my Chrome to go back to default often so I disabled it.
