Firefox 26.0 64 bit windows installer link? The portable runs fine but it's too much hassle to set as default. Anyone have a clean link to FF installer? (Not Pale Moon or Waterfox but the Firefox 26.0 x64)

All I can find is the 26.0 Portable link on Softpedia.

Well when I have more than 1/2 kb/s bandwidth I think I;ll get 32 bit FF installer for default. The 26.0 x64 portable runs great. It's just when these damn login pages open they fire off the default. It's just an annoyance.

It seems like every FF variant I tried, other than the 26.0 x64 portable, is a dog. The only exception was 24.2.2 Pale Moon. But as soon as PM is running it messes up the hotkeys in use. So it just defeats the purpose.

Thanks for the replies. As for setting FF as default using the setting button in the program.. it never worked for me. It will bring up the Default Programs menu, but that will not allow you to set all the protocols to FirefoxPortable. You'd have to manually fudge it. It's just not worth it. So currently I have Waterfox 26.0 set as default, just to catch those WiFi authorization pages. For everything else I use FirefoxPortable 26.0 x64.

It's amazing how much snappier it is than anything else. The only browser with comparable load time is Opera x64. But it doesn't have the features that FF has.

Life is strange. After trying lots of FF derived 32 and 64 bit browsers just to take the authorization page launch, and finding every one of them "sticky" as in freezing for a few seconds, or more than a few(maybe because they all pull off the same profile or some weird thing) I finally just installed Chromium 32 bit as default. Well, it turns out it's faster than the FF 26.0 x64 portable.

But this time around I'm not going to play with the chromium snapshots. Been there done that! :)
