This is driving me crazy. The live stream at MSNBC TV Digital TVE - Lean Forward: The digital home of MSNBC TV | MSNBC seems to have broken recently when using Windows 8.1/IE11 64-bit. It think it may be a Flash update issue. The archived video streams like one at The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell on msnbc plays fine. Also, live streaming works on Chrome (although choppy). I've checked the Flash settings for storage permissions and all seems fine. Could someone check to see if the live MSNBC stream works for them on Windows 8.1/IE11 64-bit? The live stream actually works when logging in through my cable provider's site (MyVerizon) so it seems it's something with how MSNBC is doing the stream directly versus through the provider.

Thanks for the help. This is weird since the archived streams work and the live stream doesn't. I've deleted cookies, etc. and about everything I could think of.

P.S. to access the live stream you must subscribe to a cable service included on their list and sign in using that account information. If your provider isn't on the first tiled list, click see full list below the tiles for a more complete list.

UPDATE:
Although no one seemed to care (or had any help) I'm posting this to close out the thread.

I discovered that the now.msnbc.com and cnbc.com/live-tv/ sites have a problem with default document mode that is being used in IE 11. The default is "9" for these sites is but changing the document mode to "10" produces the live stream video. In IE, hitting F12 brings up the emulation screen that allows you to see and set the emulation for document mode.

I wanted to share the cause and a workaround.

FYI the default document mode for this forum site is also "9" which is apparently not the latest standard ("Edge"). See Document Mode in Internet Explorer | Testing made easier in Internet Explorer | modern.IE if you're curious about what I am writing about here.
