copy and paste

Hello
I have attended a forum for years with no problems. Recently they have overhauled the site with a modern look.
I use to be able to copy ad paste but no longer can. I have treed with both MSIE 11 and Firefox 25. MSIE 11 does not work at all. With FF I found a work around by copying then at the site clicking on a little box that says Word or Plain Text. I then cv it and the message appears in this little box. it says it cannot work with my browser. Lastly I ok the little box and the message appears in the dialogue box it was meant to be in, in the first place.
I would have suspected the site being new but a member in the forum says he has no trouble with either browser copying and pasting.
Do you have any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

How about a screenshot of that second protected mode warning? It sure sounds like that forum has initiated some sort of copyright protection and, since I am familiar with all ways to do that (because I have used them at one time or another), I wll be able to verify same just by looking at that pop up most times; however, I will not instruct you as to "how to get around that iisue" because there are reasons why that webmaster though it might be necessary.

I have enclosed a picture of the box I see at the forum. If I click paste or use cv it does not paste. The only way I can paste is to use Firefox, click on the little Word or Plain Text icon and when the little box opens, I then use cv and ok and the original paste message appears in the main dialogue box.

Oh, I see, that is a different direction than I had thought originally. So, you actually are trying to copy from somewhere else and then paste it into that box as part of your own response. Yes, I can tell you first hand that I have experienced the exact same behavior when trying to use IE11 at a different forum that apparently uses the exact same scripting because our views are exactly the same. Anyway, whoever told you that they are not having problems most likely didn't understand your issue. However, since I have no control over their scripting, I'm not going to change my IE options to accommodate their script. Good luck.

Nice testing but it doesn't work that way in the forum I am referring to. With that said, I'm going to send you a PM to identify the specific forum in question on my end, and if his forum is set up like mine, your suggestion may not work because it doesn't work for me either. Changing security settings would let one click the Paste icon.
But lowering security is not a good idea.
I use Opera.
My settings:



It seems by just blocking 3rd party cookies the Paste icon acts the way it does. ( & site data )

Hey David, Thanks for that testing. However, at this point, I'm not willing to play with my IE settings; however, I did test it using Firefox and I got this message:



Looks similar to yours in a previous post. The blocking/unblocking cookies might be a good thing for the OP to try. I should also make note that the site in question (on my end) uses a java-based script and I do not have Java installed. In summary, I think the OP has enough information from your testing to try and tweak his settings if he so desires but I'm not going that route. BTW, I owe you a rep for this one but I'm all repped out for today so i'll catch you tomorrow.

I have both 32 & 64 bit JAVA.

The fact that you have java installed may or may not have something to do with it. So, the OP now has plenty of things to try.

I was successful with one person's thumbs up but it says I need to spread more reputation to do it for others.
Thank you all for your kind help if I understand you, I am better off doing as I do and not lowering my security settings.
