After update windows 8 to windows 8.1RTM, the first thing I did was downloading and installing Chrome.:D

I also use Chrome with Win8 and IE10, primarily as a secondary browser. Love the adblock feature and IE10 will sometimes not play news vid streams. Also had an issue when IE10 would not play YouTube, but corrected with a reset.

IE11 has just been made available for Win7. About 2 months ago, I read an article on ZDNet that IE11 would not be available for Win8. The thought is MSN wants to encourage upgrade to 8.1.

Do not understand the logic. After trying the 8.1 preview I plan on remaining with 8 which meets my needs.

Anyone heard anything different about IE11 for Win 8 ?

I believe that Windows 8 will go out of support 2 years after 8.1 is released, because 8.1 is treated like a Service Pack to 8.0, so won't be supported in the same way as (for instance) Windows 7 with no Service Pack isn't supported any more.

Good point !

However, I will not be surprised if a Win 9 is not available within 2 years, at least in preview form.

Not only did I download and Install Chrome, I disabled IE from the Windows Features. I only ever used IE to download Chrome :p.

I can't use Chrome. Chrome and/or Google's auto updater, causes audio glitches in my recording studio recordings. On Windows 7 it caused very high DPC latency glitches. Once I got rid of Chrome and the updater my DPC latency went back to "normal". I can't check the DPC Latency in Win 8 as that program is not Win 8 compatible.

I had to manually edit the registry to get rid of all the entries that Google installed in the registry. Just uninstalling still left the updater and all its entries. Even uninstalling with Revo Uninstaller Pro didn't get everything out.
