Whenever I enter a certain address into my browser, the address instantaneously changes to "Adf.***" and goes to this site.

How can I prevent this?

Help appreciated.

adf is adfly , some unscrupulous/dodgy sites re-direct you to adfly hosted web pages as they get revenue for passing your connection through their servers per connection.

Another option is if it happens to all your sites , you may have a trojan/adware on your PC.

It only happens on one address.

I have tried resetting the browser, that did not work so I reinstalled a previous image of the drive, and that also did not work.

I have another PC so I tried to address the site causing the trouble and this PC also directed me to the unwanted site. So, it looks like the infiltration is tied to my E-Mail address, which leaves me stumped as what to do.

Anyone offer any advice.

Maybe in Blocked Sites in Internet Options add:

*Adf.***

or

*Adf.com

or both.

Tried a a few thigs. One thing was blocking ad*.ly from accessing the internet from my computer. This worked so I blocked ad*.ly from accessing my computer, this also worked. Conclusion was that the site I was trying to visit had been nobbled.

I tried again a few minutes ago and now have full access from both machines.

Result.:D

Well, the only thing I can suggest is to either stop using that site as its obviously dodgy or keep adding the urls to the blocking list.
