Disable "Allow this website to open an app on your pc?"

Hello.

I'm trying a "workaround" to create a shortcut that opens a Metro App. The shortcut works fine. However, every time I click on it, this pop-up occurs:

allow_website.jpg

I have to click on "Allow" every time I want to launch that app. I tried disabling/lowering options in IE, but nothing worked for me. I also disabled UAC and even disabled it in the registry. This thing still pops up. I also tried adding the url for the Metro App as a trusted site. Still can't get rid of it.

Anyone know how to disable this thing?

Darn. I had hope that one would work, but unfortunately no. It is definitely set, and I restarted. This is frustrating because I thought in Windows 7 there USED to be a little checkbox on that window that said something along the lines of "Always remember my choice".

I found a work around for this problem. You have to force the app to open in the Modern UI version of Internet Explorer. Open Internet Explorer, click on Tools in the upper right hand corner (gear icon), select Internet options. From there, select the Programs tab and change "Choose how you open links" to Always in Internet Explorer.

It's not perfect, but you won't get the pop up anymore.

Hope it helps.
