I have for the last 10 years or so run a computer with XP on it, using Outlook Express as my mail server. I have 9 different e-mail address and about 100 individual folders. Having just purchased a new HP Envy Phoenix H9-1330ea with Windows 8 pre installed I am confused as to how to run a similar mail set up similar to the one I currently have. Can anybody with similar experience help.

If you have MS Office, you can use Outlook. I have been using it for quite sometime and am satisfied with it. I also used Outlook Express when I had XP. With Outlook you can do pretty much what you do with Outlook Express.

Windows Live Mail is the current e-mail program from Microsoft. It has to be downloaded (free download). It will allow handling multiple e-mail accounts, both ISP and web based. You can also import your old Outlook/Outlook Express address book to Windows Live Mail.

My wife and I both use Windows Live Mail and it works great. When setting up an account you just enter the e-mail address and password and it will attempt to set all the server configurations. Can be done manually also. You can import contacts and your present e-mails.
