Solved Can't prevent email links from triggering Metro version of IE

Whenever I click on a link in in email the Metro IE app opens instead of 'regular' IE. I've tried downloading Firefox and made it the default browser but the Metro app still insists on taking control when a link is clicked. That might be OK on a tablet, but it certainly isn't on a PC. I'd love to hear about it if and when anyone finds a way around this.

Try this.

When you have the metro IE open and focused on
, go all the way into the bottom left hand corner of the screen to bring up the metro start menu.

Click on "settings" which will open up some settings for the metro IE to the right. Click on "Default View for Links". Then click Yes for "Do you want links to open in Desktop". Close the browser out, and try out a link in email again.
