Honestly, every one I know, bashes IE and says it sucks and it's so common for it to be mocked. I do not understand why because IE 9 (or whichever is the newest) is amazingly fast and fluid!

The only reason I use Firefox over IE is ads. With Ad Block Plus I have no ads. . .

Although I've always used IE, I smile when it comes to the Karaoke part. I'm out twice a week singing.

Believe me when I say that I tried to like it. But without Ghostery or Adblock I cannot succumb to Internet Explorer. Don't worry, I enable ads on websites I regularly visit (ads that are not intrusive or stupid).

IE historically was plauged with security issues. Later releases are much better.

However, as others have said, I've started using browsers that support add-ons and a few are important to me. And I use the Google Chrome sync feature extensively across my various devices, OS's, etc.

Nothing wrong with th IE. I only had problems with IE10 - it crashed. But I also use Opera and Google depending on application. Firefox I only use in Linux.

Yeah, looking at the latest Secunia vulnerability review, it seems they have improved somewhat:

Oh, and one more thing, I changed a few security settings to make thing easier for myself and IE won't stop complaining; it's infuriating.

Hi there
This one surpasses IE10 --The new IE11 -- Whether Ms releases this before W8 blue is "officially" released I don't know.

One feature that sounds good -- is the fact that you can stop browsing a site on one PC and then immediately on another PC / device such as a phone / tablet continue where you left off. -- I can't test this yet as I don't have TWO spare machines to try W8 Blue on yet. It WILL have the syncing ability across all your devices as well. Hopefully IE11 will make its way into the current W8 release.

Cheers
jimbo

I love Internet Explorer. I use IE 10 now and it's the most stable and reliable browser I've used. Not to mention it's incredibly modern and beautiful.

And now, to answer something many of you have been considering to be the main reason of you choosing another browser.

It's official. Adblock Plus is coming to IE and it's coming with a bang.

I mentioned in post #3 that IE already has an adblock built it (that can use Fanboys and Easylist Tracking Protection Lists), but no-one seemed to take any notice.

When IE works cross platform and syncs bookmarks and history across all of these devices I will take another look.

IE has improved by leaps and bounds since IE6 (which I had to use at work for a looooongg time).

I still find IE10 a bit flaky though. I've set it to reload my previous tabs at startup, but sometimes IE10 "forgets" and loses all the tabs I've been working on. FF is much more reliable in this.
