Hi oldsoldier,
Welcome to the forums, it's something to do with MSN.com, I had "not responding" issues with that home page, I simply switched to something else.
I also get this not responding issue with IE 10, but only on the MSN for Windows 8 page and only if I leave IE down in my taskbar or if I have a different tab open for a certain length of time.
The MSN for Windows 8 page eventually locks the entire browser up which takes anywhere from a few minutes to a half hour, but only if
the MSN for Win8 page is open in my tabs. If I leave IE open on the desktop with that page showing then the problem doesn't occur.
This appears to be a blatant IE 10 problem and I've scoured the internet and have also tried all possible settings, reset IE etc. to no avail, even reinstalled my entire OP system and used a different MSN account, same problem no matter what I do.
I'm finding it pretty hard to believe that Msoft didn't catch this problem and I can't believe there aren't complaints about this all over the internet? This has nothing to do with the Op's problem however.
Update: I found that if I click the fast scroll button on the live window it locks the live window to that position and the problem with the page locking up goes away.
I've figured out that the page stops the live window the second it's not the main window, this stoppage is what's causing the problem.
I'm finding it hard to believe that Msoft put out a new browser and new styled web page just for it's own Op system and it has this
glaring flaw included which they apparently haven't noticed.
