Moving Contacts from Charter.net email into Win 8

Hello,

I have successfully set up the Mail tile to access my charter.net email. The settings indicate that contacts should be imported. However, they are not. The People tile is empty. Is there a way to import my charter.net contacts into WIN 8 mail. I understand that they woudl go into PEOPLE, however I just cannot figure this out.

the Windows 8 mail app pulls contacts from common sources like outlook, gmail, facebook, etc.
