G'day! Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I have
Windows 8 Home
HP Pavilion 23
AMD 6 with 3.6Ghz

I have Outlook.com some working well I think. My question is that I added Verizon and Gmail as an account to Outlook.com as a Send/Receive accoun each. I thought by that it would mean if I was highlighted say on Verizon that mail sent from there would show up in the recipient's mail as having been sent through my Verizon account? Same with Gmail. I sent test messages of each to a web account to JUNO and they both showed as having been sent from my Live.com account I was signed in with.

Am I expecting something that I shouldn't? Thanks greatly for your help. Jack ":-D

SIGNATURE: I'm eternally grateful, well not eternally but for a long time I appreciate your help! :)

if you want to have it separate, you can't combine them into an outlook.com account that you add to the Windows 8 mail app.

for the verizon email, add that to the outlook.com email and then add that outlook.com account to the Win8 mail app.
for the gmail email, don't add that to the outlook.com email. just add the gmail account to the win8 mail app. that way, you have separate mailboxes and can reply separately.

if you add all these emails to your outlook.com account and then just add the outlook.com account to the win8 mail, it'll all be combined together as 1 account.

DirtyVu: I gotcha I think. I added the accounts while online in the browser via live.com. Your saying I should have added the accounts after having accessed them via the Metro tile. So if that's right, should I delete them from the account while in a browser and online? I wonder what I will lose? Am I correct in my assumption of what you are saying? Jack and thanks! ":-D

okay, just so I'm clear on what you did... correct any of these points for me if they're incorrect.

1) you added your verizon email to your outlook.com email account.
2) you added your gmail email to that same outlook.com email account.
3) you added that outlook.com email account to your windows 8 mail app

Yes sir! That's the way it appears. Now everything seems to work fine. Gmail goes the Gmail folder. Verizon Mail goes to the Verizon folder. So far so good. When I thought to just test this send/receive thing (remember when I added them as accounts in the browser online I chose them to be send/receive accounts) I found that when I clicked on the Verizon folder, created a NEW message, sent it to a Juno account, when it arrived at the Juno account it said it came from my live.com account. That's were I questioned this Send/Receive thing. Hence the question I initiated here. Haven't got to your solution yet but will in short order.

Is your suggestion to remove the accounts from the outlook.com email account and then add them to the outlook.com win8 app?

Thanks! Jack ":-D

okay, so the organization of your emails in the Win8 email app okay for you? and that the "sent from windows email" is the part you didn't want? in that case, remove the email signature in the email settings.

Aren't these things hard to make clear sometimes, I'm sure I'm failing. In the Win8 Mail app I would like for to click on say for instance VERIZON MAIL, and send a message and have the recipient see it came from my Verizon account, even within the Win8 app. It's not doing that now. The mail is getting sorted correctly but the above is not working. I believe it was you that said it's because I added the 2 accounts within the live.com account online, in a browser and not at the Win8 MAIL app. Which is correct, I did as you suspect. Now, so I can send mail from the MAIL app and appear as it comes from Verizon and/or Gmail I have to add those accounts at the Win8 MAIL app, which they are not at this time. My question now is should I remove the accounts from the live.com account from online in a browser, and add them at the Win8 MAIL app? Gosh almighty, I am trying really hard to be plain! ":-DDDD ha! You know I've read a lot of links and forums in the past month and I get the idea that a lot of people are having trouble communicating these issues and it's not just me! LOL It's trying to help newbies to Win8 understand there is a live.com account online with your browser, and a live.com account withing Win8 from the MAIL app. It can get confusing at times. But you have been a help. I just need to know if it's better to remove Verizon and Gmail from the online live.com account before I add them to the Win8 MAIL app? Thanks! jack
