Help Please . . . . . .

I successfully set up in January the old Windows Mail (WinMail) on Windows 8 and everything is working perfect except for one thing.

If I save a copy of an email to documents or anywhere else, when I try to open it, instead of being able to read it, all it does is open the Windows Mail 'in box'

When I moved Windows Mail from Vista to Windows 7 this didn't happen. I tried everything on Windows 8 but can't seem to solve this problem.

Any ideas from you wonderful experts . . . . .

Regards, David

All Fixed

All Fixed . . . . . .

Spent hours checking through forums and fiddling with the computer.

Windows SevenForum and Windows EightForum are by far the best.

Various posts on EightForum led me to check out the more in depth posts on SevenForum.
After spending hours reading post after post I found the solution to my problem. I downloaded a small registry Fix called 'Windows Mail2' which sets WinMail as DEFAULT in the registry.

Bingo all fixed. I had to reorganise the page layout again as the fix reverts it back to the default.

I can now 'view' saved emails in my documents etc. Not earth shattering but useful.
