 Good Morning:

I installed the Windows 8- 39 dollar deal at the Windows store this morning. This was an upgrade from Vista to 8 on my personal Work Station. Toshiba Satellite A215-S4697.

I chatted with a store rep. several days ago & asked the question that I wanted to save my bookmarks & did not want to loose my emails (Business Contacts), on Outlook 2003 that was installed on the computer. After the installation, it appears that I have my Bookmarks, but, No Outlook 2003. I somewhat understood, that from the instructions I received from the rep., if I chose "Install Personal Settings", only within the download procedure, that everything would work out. It appears that I misunderstood or he was wrong.

Since all of our business contact Emails are within the program, Our secretary will have a coronary when she comes in this morning & sees what I have done.

Can I restore these Email's in question? I have IPAGE as my Domain Manager. You might know that I erased all of our 4817 Emails last year off of there server 2 weeks ago. I am paying the Preacher Good I thought.

I noticed some information on Microsoft, that Outlook 2003 was not even compatible with Windows 8. Also, it was discussed within the Rep Chat, that you could get a free copy of an Updated Copy of Outlook when you purchase Windows 8. I am not clear on that. We have used 2003 for many years with no problems & we could not see a need for an upgrade.

Many Thanks for all of your comments in advance.

As Microsoft says that Office 2003 (including Outlook 2003) is not compatible, it was apparently not copied over with the upgrade.

I have Office 2003 installed in Win 8 and it works OK. I mainly use Word 2003 and Outlook 2003. If you have the original Office 2003 install disc you can reinstall it and restore your old Outlook PST file (assuming its still on the hard drive). If you don't have the Office 2003 install disc you are probably "out of luck" and will have to install the current version, however, I don't know if you can copy over the old PST file.

Good Afternoon:

Many Thanks for the reply. I do not have the install disc. It is on the Vista recovery Disc & I am tickled with the 8 so far & I do not want to mess up any more than I already have. Any thoughts on Good Deals on Outlook & this tale I was talking about previously concerning the Free Disc or Download? Many Thanks Again in Advance.

I don't know of any deals on Outlook 2010 (the current version).

I suppose I'll have to upgrade some day, but right now Outlook 2003 (and Word 2003) are working without problems in Win 8.

Good Morning:

I got the back hoe out & found my old Original Office 2003 install disc. It was for 3 work stations. I do think that we installed the program on 3 computers, including this Vista to Windows 8 Laptop in question.

Any Thoughts on- Will the disc install on this computer & the Key Number Work after 3 times? Many Thanks.
