I got a reply from bing. they gave me full instructions on how to remove bing desktop and IE toolbar *rolls eyes*
i wrote in a previous reply that i have used revo...i have gotten rid of every visibe trace of bing from my computer. all apps, searches, toolbars, desktop, EVERYthing bing that i can find is gone. the kicker in all of this is that i'm not using IE....i sent another request for help from bing. i used small words and spoke slowly so maybe they will understand my problem and give me relevant advice this time
Hm. I did have a similar problem with Chrome when I first installed Windows 8 on my laptop.
Did your computer come preinstalled with Windows 8? You could try a refresh, but it's not worth the hassle for a minor but annoying problem like this one. Another thing, try launching the Internet Explorer app off the start screen, and see if Bing is the home page, or if there's a Bing addon in there. If so, change the home page or uninstall the addon.
EDIT: Didn't see your the post prior to mine before I posted. You could also try checking any other browsers or anything that could be related to Bing. Or simply, try setting the homepage to Google, reboot and see if it does the same.
I opened IE and that home page is set to yahoo. I removed the bing toolbar and search...closed, rebooted, and opened my dragon browser and bing was homepage...I've searched comodos forum for suggestions and haven't found any useful information...still waiting on the 2nd reply from bing
medab, thank you for all the time and effort you put in to that!!! from what i'm being told, i cant open the group policy editor because it's only available for win 8 pro? I am running standard windows 8 that came preloaded on this dell I 15 3520 laptop...
No problem. You could use OPTION ONE in the tutorial below to do that using Registry Editor instead.
