web shortcut tiles suddenly only go through IE desktop

Hello, New to Win 8 and this forum.
Just got Acer touch screen laptop. Setting up 2 users, me and wife. Wanted to install Google Chrome on her start screen. Goofed up with something, and now all of her previously installed web site shortcut tiles go to the Desktop and then to the site. My start screen is OK - tiles go to the web site without opening the desktop. What did I do, and how can I undo it?

Looked through forums and didn't find topic. Sorry if it's there and I didn't see.

Hello Woody, and welcome to Eight Forums.

The tutorial below may be able to help with this. Double check with OPTION ONE to make sure Internet Explorer is set as the default program.

Afterwards, use OPTION TWO to Choose how you open links with either IE Metro, IE desktop, or Auto.
