I've submitted this question to Mozilla forum and I'm still waiting.
In Firefox 17 and 18, a non-default theme is replaced by default theme and LastPass is deactivated when I close FF and restart computer, but NOT when I restart FF within Windows 8. The theme and extension are easily reinstalled, but I'd really appreciate a fix.

The problem seems to be solved by disabling the Ghostery extension.
