    windows 8 mail app not working and syncing


    i just bought an asus touch screen laptop and i set up my gmail account on the mail app. It worked perfectly, then the next day, it would not sync/update my mail and the top right corner says: my email address is unavailable. I tried everything in the settings tab section, but nothing worked. I removed my gmail account, and tried to re-add my account back in, but then it said: error make sure your info is correct. Does anyone know what is going on?

    to me the built-in email software, is unfinished and still buggy, microsoft kind of admitted to such, for now I am staying with microsoft outlook for my email needs.

    i got the mail app to work. it turns out that avast anti virus ruined the mail app. I uninstalled it and now the mail app is working. Now next problem is that i cannot get the windows defender to turn on.

    Did you look to see if the service was disabled?

    just downloaded win 8 and my mail does not work when i start it up i just get a blank screen ,also lost my key to download media centre as its in my mail how can i retrieve my code and fix my mail

    We've been working with microsoft for hours and no luck yet. They are to get back to us Monday.

    Win 8 Mail is flacky!
    One day it appears to work the next it doesn't.
    I wonder if anyone at MS did ANY testing.
    It appears to me it has been released to users for us to find the faults.
    Not good customer service.
