Hello Islanderuk, and welcome to Eight Forums.

To create a new folder, you would right click on the account name in the left pane, and click on New folder.

To create a new sub folder, you would right click on a folder under the account name in the left pane, and click on New folder.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Shawn

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately I am using Windows 8 on a new computer and if I right click on the account name I just get the options to Snc or Pin to Start or move or Mark as unread which appear in a panel at the bottom of the screen.

In passing I also appear to be unable to send e-mails from one of my two accounts even though I have it set up exactly as it was on my old computer.

I cannot find any links that tell me about using Live mail.

    Regards

    Peter

Unfortunately it looks nothing like that. It is just a blue screen with the account name in the top left hand corner, and a list of the different folders. In the centre is the list of e-mails I have received for that account and on the right the details of the e-mail highlighted. Unfortunately I cannot get a screen print as my screen print program does not appear to work.

Am I able to dow load Outlook into Windows 8 as that would solve the problem. If I can do you know where can I get it please?

    Thanks for trying to help

Right Click the white bar at the top Second one down) and select "Minimize the ribbon" . I think you may have the compacted menu showing. If you still do not see your account and details, as in Shawn's picture, select "File" and then click, on the top menu, "Compact view"

    Thanks for responding.

There is no ribbon at the top. All there is on a white background, which is the same colour as most of the page, is on the top left hand side where there is a button with a plus sign which means New Ctrl+N, a Button with an e-mail and arrow which means Respond Ctrl+R and a Dustbin which mans Delete Ctrl+D.

I don't know if I have some rouge e-mail system that has been supplied by Toshiba who made the machine.

    Peter,

Do you have the latest Windows Essentials 2012 version of Windows Live Mail installed?

Press the CTRL+F1 keys to see if that opens the ribbon.

If not, then please post a screenshot showing what you are seeing. Be sure to white out any personal information in the screenshot before posting it though.

I downloaded Windows Essentials 2012 and found the correct Windows Live Mail. I have no idea what I had on the computer before so thank you very much.

However in downloading this program my computer lost its WiFi connection and it was shown as off. I switched off the Computer and put in an ethernet cable. Unfortunately when I re-started my computer I was asked for a password on a plain blue screen. I entered my Windows password which turned out not to be what it wanted. It wanted some other password.

After trying three other passwords the computer shut down and when I started it up I got the same screen requesting a password. In otherwords the system had crashed.

I will be taking my one day old computer back to the stores in the morning but I am very surprised that the Windows Essentials 2012 program caused this to happen and am not very happy.
